Bringing a World-Class Manufacturing Floor to Every Screen on the Planet
One of India's most respected manufacturers of wires, cables, and electrical products wanted to break a long-standing constraint: the impossibility of scaling physical factory visits. Their manufacturing infrastructure represented decades of engineering investment, state-of-the-art machinery, and rigorous quality systems — but this story could only be told to visitors who could physically walk through the doors. Factory Tour was the answer: a web-based, fully navigable 360° virtual tour that places stakeholders inside the facility and lets them explore, discover, and engage with the manufacturing process — without leaving their desk.
The client's traditional touchpoints — printed catalogs, sales presentations, and scheduled site visits — were limited in reach and scale. International distributors, institutional buyers, and investment stakeholders needed a credible way to evaluate the facility's capabilities remotely. Beyond the business constraint, the technical challenge was formidable: 360° web experiences are notoriously difficult to optimize. Panoramic asset loading, cross-device rendering, interactive navigation, and smooth performance on mobile networks all needed to meet a premium standard without sacrificing the sense of immersion the experience demanded.
We designed and built the complete digital experience — from navigational architecture to interaction design to performance engineering. The core engine is a WebGL-powered panoramic viewer connected to a real-time department map, letting users navigate between production zones with smooth cinematic transitions. Each zone is enriched with contextual hotspots that surface machinery specifications, quality certifications, and process details on demand. For passive stakeholders, an auto-tour guided mode walks through the entire facility with controlled pacing. For technical evaluators, full self-navigation mode offers granular control over every area of the plant.
Full spherical exploration within each zone with gesture, mouse, and keyboard controls calibrated for comfort across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
A live, clickable facility map that orients users spatially and enables instant zone-to-zone navigation with context-aware loading transitions.
In-scene markers surface spec sheets, process descriptions, and quality data directly within the panoramic view — no separate pages, no broken immersion.
A passive walkthrough that transitions between all departments in sequence — designed for sales presentations, investor briefings, and partner onboarding.
Short-form process videos and downloadable specification documents embedded directly inside the tour environment without disrupting visual flow.
Adaptive asset delivery and lazy-loading architecture ensuring smooth 360° rendering on desktop, tablet, and bandwidth-constrained mobile environments.
Dedicated in-tour panels displaying the facility's ISO certifications, testing standards, and quality management achievements per production zone.
A minimal, industrial-toned UI keeping user attention on the facility while reinforcing brand identity at every navigation touchpoint.
B2B stakeholders across India and internationally conduct full facility evaluations remotely — no scheduling, no logistics.
Unlimited simultaneous virtual walkthroughs replaced the physical bottleneck of scheduled, capacity-limited site visits.
Distributors and trade partners reported stronger confidence in product quality and manufacturing standards after completing the virtual walkthrough.
The experience positioned the client as a technology-forward manufacturer in an industry that still relies heavily on traditional materials.
